Who is winning, and the move
ALLEN and Aakash each feed admissions through a scholarship test. On 14 October ALLEN announced its Meerut centre, offering scholarships of up to 90% of fees to students who sit the ALLEN Sharp exam on 1 November. Aakash published eleven ANTHE 2026 posts between 28 September and 2 October, seven of them on 30 September, with a cash-award table paid only to students who join an Aakash course before 1 March 2027.

Vedantu's 27 July scholarship-test post promises up to 100% on test score alone and gives no score-to-percentage slabs, though its 8 September post does publish fees, such as Rs 1,15,000 for a NEET dropper batch. Unacademy's CEO confirmed on 1 September that the upGrad acquisition had completed, and on 20 October 2026 its homepage announced no offer, launch or deadline. Its scholarship push sits off the homepage: its 20 September UPSC scholarship test offered top rankers a chance at up to 90% and named prizes for 500 ranks, from an iPhone for first place to gift vouchers for ranks 81 to 500.
The opening
Our read is that the scholarship test is the shared funnel for ALLEN, PhysicsWallah, Aakash and Vedantu, and PhysicsWallah's own count shows how rare the headline is: nearly 3,000 of the more than 18.4 lakh students who sat the first phase of its 2025 test won 100%, fewer than one in 600. ALLEN, Aakash and Vedantu lead with an "up to 90%" or "up to 100%" ceiling. A newcomer can win by headlining the scholarship most of its test-takers actually receive, with the last test's count beside it, a promise a parent can check and the large chains cannot match without shrinking their headlines.
