A newcomer in wedding photographers and wedding-film studios, South India: three things worth knowing

Researched the week of 20 October 2026

Who is winning, and the move

Two studios lead. House On The Clouds claims Wedding Filmmaker of the Year four years running at the Weddingsutra Awards and posted Sobhita and Chay, Hyderabad, on 15 January 2026, yet it publishes no prices and routes enquiries to a contact form. Richie Films prints prices on its own site, from about Rs 50,000 for a single day, and is taking bookings for 2027.

The nearest competitors

Kamero launched a free Windows desktop uploader on 8 October. Samaro's homepage promises "Camera to Cloud in 2 seconds" and 12,000+ photographers, while its 26 August post gives an eight-second median and 9,000+ photographers.

The opening

Among the software vendors, the claims are loud and the proof is thin: Samaro, Kamero and FotoOwl offer speed and scale figures, and of the four only Photomall names South Indian studios on its homepage, where the one delivery time a studio gives is Periscope Weddings of Coimbatore crediting Photomall with meeting a last-minute request within an hour, which measures the vendor, not the studio. Richie Films promises a sneak peek within days and the full gallery within a month, and a newcomer can win by publishing the delivery times it actually keeps on real weddings, so a couple can check them before they book.
